Free, Asthma Resources from the National Institutes of Health are a Mouse Click Away
Today—May 3, 2011—is World Asthma Day, and this year's theme is "You Can Control Your Asthma."
Indeed, you can improve both asthma control and care by visiting the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) online asthma resource pages and downloading (for free) or ordering materials by the NHLBI and its National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI).
Order or download the My Asthma Wallet Card for yourself and to share with others. Tuck it into your wallet, pocket, or purse as a handy reference to help you keep track of everything from specifics about your medication to the warning signs of an asthma attack. Then forward this eAlert to patients, friends, and family members with your own World Asthma Day message, encouraging them to get their free My Asthma Wallet Card.
But don’t stop there.
Get a copy of the NHLBI’s 12-page booklet Take Action: Stop Asthma Today!, which features six critical steps for improving asthma care and control. It also points to more NHLBI asthma resources that you can use and distribute in your workplace, school, or community. No matter who you are, the NHLBI has resources that can help you take action today.
And, if you haven’t already, sign up for the NACI In the Know, a quarterly eNewsletter that will bring news from the asthma arena directly to your inbox.
Help improve asthma care and control today and every day with these resources.
