National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Task Force on the Cost Effectiveness, Quality of Care, and Financing of Asthma Care

This three-part report reviews the economic factors that influence the delivery of asthma care and offers recommendations to improve the quality of asthma care in the United States. The first part of the report characterizes the role of cost-effectiveness analysis in understanding optimal asthma management strategies. The second part describes an asthma continuous quality improvement that is applicable to a variety of settings. The third part explores the effects of health care financing on access to services, treatment of asthma, and potential health outcomes.
