In February 2008, The Heart Truth® celebrated its sixth year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, commemorating the groundbreaking partnership with America's fashion industry to bring the Red Dress℠ to life in the national effort to raise awareness about women and heart disease. On National Wear Red Day®, February 1, 2008, The Heart Truth rolled out the red carpet for 15 celebrated women who donned one-of-a-kind red dresses by America's top designers for women's heart health. The 2008 show featured opening remarks by Mrs. Laura Bush, campaign ambassador, and a show-stopping finale sung by Liza Minnelli.

Designed to warn women of their #1 health threat, The Heart Truth created and introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in 2002 to deliver an urgent wake-up call to American women. The Red Dress® reminds women of the need to protect their heart health and inspires them to take action.

The Red Dress Collection 2008 Fashion Show was presented by Diet Coke with national sponsors Johnson & Johnson and Swarovski; and make-up partner Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
