This report captures the results of a workshop that brought together experts in adolescent sleep medicine, secondary education, and driver education to review current research and education programs related to sleep, drowsy driving, and teens. The workshop identified education priorities for future initiatives to reach youth with messages about the need for adequate sleep and the consequences of sleep deprivation, including performance impairments and drowsy driving. This National Center on Sleep Disorders Research publication serves as a planning tool for educational activities targeting youth.
