Mila has offered to go grocery shopping for her mother, Lola Idad, who is home sick with the flu. Lola also has diabetes. Mila wants to buy foods that are lower in calories and sugar to help her mother. Look at the Nutrition Facts labels. Help Mila select foods that are lower in sugar. Which foods should Mila buy?
- Pan de Sal - Filipino roll - (serving size 1 (25g), 1g sugar) or doughnut (serving size 1 (54g), 15g sugar)
- Cooked oatmeal (serving size ½ cup, 0 sugar) or bibingka - sweet rice cake - (serving size 1 slice (273g), 44g sugar)
- Gelatin (serving size ¼ cup, 19g sugar) or Sugar-free gelatin (serving size ¼ cup, 0g sugar)
- Fat-free, no-sugar ice cream (serving size ½ cup (66g), 4g sugar) or chocolate ice cream (serving size ½ cup (66g), 17g sugar)
