PA-star: The NHLBI's Special Funding Strategy for Three NIH Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs)

The NHLBI will use a special funding strategy for three Program Announcements (PAs) recently published in the NIH Guide (listed below).
Unamended new (Type 1) applications submitted in response to these PAs will be considered for funding at 5 percentile points above the Institute's regular payline for unamended R01 applications.
Early stage investigators (ESIs) will receive the normal 5 percentile advantage, and will automatically receive an additional 5 percentile advantage without having to resolve comments in the summary statement, for a total of a 10 percentile advantage.
