Dr. Arun Chockalingam Joins the NHLBI as the Director of our new Office of Global Health

Dear NHLBI Colleagues:

I am delighted to inform you that Dr. Arun Chockalingam joined the Institute as the Director of our new Office of Global Health (OGH) on April 11, 2010.

Arun brings to the Institute a unique combination of experience in global health research, policy, training, and administration in addition to international leadership within the global health community. One of his first duties will be to participate in the annual scientific meetings of the Oxford Health Alliance and the United Health and NHLBI Collaborating Centers of Excellence that are being held this April in New Delhi, India. He will also have an opportunity to visit the Indian Centers of Excellence in New Delhi and Bangalore.

Global health is a priority focus of the NIH and the Institute, and I look forward to Arun’s leadership. Please join me in welcoming him to the NHLBI family.
