A Thanksgiving message from the NHLBI

In this season of giving thanks, the NHLBI would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to all of you in the NHLBI community who contribute to discoveries that enhance human health—to the investigators who conduct the research; the health care professionals who translate the knowledge we generate into practice; the clinical trial participants who help us to test the safety and efficacy of new methods of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment; the patient advocacy groups that help us disseminate research results to others; and to the public for providing the resources needed to invest in the scientific breakthroughs yet to come. You all give of yourselves to make other people's lives better, and without you we could not begin to fulfill our mandate to improve the public's health. We are grateful to live in, and have the opportunity to work for, a nation that invests in scientific research to enhance the present and future well-being of all.
I would like to add my personal thanks to my colleagues at the NHLBI for their tireless dedication to excellence in serving the American people and others around the globe.
